1. How did ALEAS Board come about?
“Our working world is changing. Global markets and new technologies require innovation and the ability to act quickly, globally distributed teams are increasingly becoming the standard. Not only start-ups, but also established large companies are therefore increasingly relying on agile working methods, such as our STAGILE® framework. However, the right tool is just as important as the methodology. On the one hand, it was important to us that teams could work together optimally in real time and independent of location. On the other hand, we were looking for a simple, intuitive software that new users could work with within minutes – just like an analogue board. We didn’t want to waste time on complicated tools with many unnecessary additional functions. Therefore we decided to develop our own application. Our solution was to be web-based, optimized for touch screens, available anytime and anywhere and designed for easy use. The result is ALEAS Board: a virtual workspace for successful team collaboration.”
2. What are the advantages of ALEAS Board?
“ALEAS Board can be accessed around the clock from anywhere in the world and enables simple, result-oriented teamwork despite distances in time or space. Several users can work simultaneously, changes are applied in real time. A full text search, various filter options and the presentation mode make meetings for globally distributed teams much easier. Due to the flexible design of the templates, the possible applications are virtually endless. Our customers use the ALEAS Board in various industries and for various purposes, for example in agile software and hardware development or for team and project management. We also pay special attention to data security and user management. With just a few clicks you can, for example, create a backup of a board and assign individual access rights for each board thanks to different user roles. Since ALEAS Board is continuously optimized and expanded, our developers are happy to take into account the wishes and requirements of our customers whenever possible.”
3. Is ALEAS Board suitable for implementing the STAGILE® Framework?
“STAGILE® is a powerful hybrid framework that combines the best elements of traditional process models with modern agile concepts. An important part of the framework developed by us are elements from the Scrum methodology. The STAGILE® board serves as a basis, no matter if in analog or digital form – whereas meanwhile almost only the digital version is used. The templates we have specially designed for this purpose are ideally suited for ALEAS Board and when designing the so-called IntelliSticky (a digital notepad with additional functions), we already paid attention to the compatibility with STAGILE®. In addition, the ALEAS Board scores with many advantages over the paper board: Virtually infinite workspace instead of limited walls, access management instead of unwanted viewing by passing colleagues, one-click backup instead of stray sticky notes – and so on.”
